Ricardo Legorreta dies on December 30, 2011. He was a prolific Mexican architect and a disciple of Luis Barragan. Legorreta used colour as an important part of his architecture.

During the past decade on the Internet, I’ve realized that color is an experience we all share regardless of geography, gender, religion, politics, or age. Last year, I decided to conduct a series of color workshops in Pakistan as a way to reach out to the Muslim world. I arrived in Pakistan serving as a “visiting professor” in the Visual Communication Department at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore. It was an amazing experience … and color has been a powerful tool to establish rapport with my students, and to build a few bridges. There are a few more details at the Color Matters blog
